November 2, 2002 - Final update part two
I put a backup of the Clan Risen homepage on my server and updated it
in a few places, mostly making it valid
HTML 4.01 and updating
broken links, though not all of them. It's really sad to see how fast some things vanish
from the internet.
I've also made my old SpeedStats of our matches available again.
Eclipse
P.S.: For anyone who didn't notice yet, #Amigaquake is located on the
QuakeNet IRC network nowadays.
March 23, 2000 - CR is no longer CR - final update
Well, some time has passed since the last update. Many things have changed: Clan Risen
and Angry Angels fusioned to "Risen Angels"; our website can be found here. As a result, there won't be any
further updates of the CR-Site. It will rest online in it's current form, due to special
requests by MellowB and Bandit. Maybe #Amigaquake will make it to QW one day, as Amiga-clients
are available for some time now, maybe not - thou shall use our files anyway, just keep up the
old spirit of summer 1998, ah yes, nostalgia &-)
Logain
P.S.: Please note - we no longer sell nor distribute our Amiga Team Fortress-Collection
CDs.
P.P.S.: If you want to know or remember, how things started at #Amigaquake and AmigaTF
in general, you might have a look at the original TF-FAQ, in both
english and
german versions.
At the end, you should enjoy the special "Knotti
"-version of the FFAQ. &-)
May 16, 1999 - More redesigning
May 16, 1999 - CR go QW
Yep, that's right - we want to progress as players and be able to
play as a team more often, a challenge only found if we can practice and
compete against other clans on a regular basis. Almost all other clans
play QW, and so will we.
Don't worry, our TF server will remain open to all those who are unwilling
or unable to use QW - we will not forget where we came from!
May 16, 1999 - More redesigning
I finally found some time to dedicate to the website, the first results
of which can be viewed now and here. The new clan logo is a while down the
road while the appearance will be improved over the next couple of weeks.
March 30, 1999 - Clan Info page redesigned
Today sees the first release of the new and improved Clan information page.
It is not yet 100% finished but most things are in place.
March 29, 1999 - Why we did it.
As promised, here some explanations on why we resigned from the
CB webring:
Most of you will have noticed that CB has a long history of broken
promises, MystPPC, QuakePPC and Quakeworld/Amiga among them, peaking
in the fact that any updates to Napalm are only available to members
of "The Portal", not to mention the Myst story.
To cut a long story short: We firmly believe that CB is no longer
worth of any support, thus we resigned from the webring.
This action is not open to discussion, if you disagree with us this
is fine but don't send us any emails. Thank you for your attention.
Feb 17, 1999 - CR resign from CB webring
Due to disagreements with the companies policies CR have decided to
discontinue their membership in the ClickBOOM webring, a more detailed
explanation can be found here this weekend.
Feb 16, 1999 - Match rules
A Storm went through the trouble of compiling some rules for holding
clan matches on regular Quake TF servers, paying special attention to
the differences between Quake and QuakeWorld play.
You can view the rules by clicking on the appropriate link in the text menu
at the top of this page or you can follow this link.
We hope that these rules will make it easier for other clans
(most of which are used to QW only) to adapt to the differences and
make it easier for them to decide on holding a scrimmage or a real
match with us.
Feb 14, 1999 - MAJOR News update
In accordance with Murphy's law there were quite a bit of news
during the last few weeks, which happened to be a time when I was
far too busy with other things to be updating the web page...
Anyways, here are the news of the last three weeks, in condensed form:
- Japes joins Clan Risen
As some might already have seen when playing on the server, Japes is
now a member of Clan Risen and his data has been added to the Clan info page.
NOTE: Clan Risen does not! actively recruit players who are already
members of another clan - however, we will not turn people away if they plan on
leaving their current clan and joining ours if we think they would make a welcome
addition to our clan's roster.
As a general rule we do not accept double memberships - experience shows
that many people have so-called "lives" that keep them from playing Quake all the
time, so we do not want them splitting their Quake time between different "employers",
at least not if our clan is affected by it.
- Tons of new maps
The past weeks saw a ton of maps added to the server:
- Havoc
- klanwar2
- sghunt1
- 2tree7
- civsaw4
Links and descriptions can be found on the files page.
- 2Fort bomb the base
This map deserves separate mention as it is a modfication of the standard
2Fort5 map done by Clan Risen's very own Centaurus. A link and a
full description of the map can be found in our file area.
Jan 12, 1999 - File area updated
I finally found the time to update the file area with the links
to the new files and to add descriptions for all of them.
Jan 11, 1999 - new (old) maps
To better accomodate small unit actions we have added 2mach1 to the server.
We were also able to bring back some of the maps we used to run and then
dropped due to scoring problems: 2splash1 and unholyk.
Hunted now allows classes 8,9 and 0 while 32smooth now has more
supplies.
Dec 26, 1998 - new maps
We have added a few more maps to the votemap: 32smooth, 2bcobra and town4. More
information will follow shortly.
Nov 21, 1998 - New member, new link
Clan Risen now has a full-time engineer on the team: Yakuza.
In the links section, the FRAG has been removed (that site will not exist
for much longer) and been replaced with a link to Amigaextreme.
Nov 11, 1998 - Meet the risen
On Saturday, Nov 14, you will have the opportunity to meet A Storm, Logain maybe Skyclad and possibly some others in
person - they will be around the Village Tronic booth at 10:00, 14:00 (possibly 16:00 CET as well)
and they will bring some TF-CDs with them - please drop us a mail if you need one.
Skyclad (which is me - the webmaster) will be at the Haage&Partner booth presenting Tornado3D, so
feel free to visit me there if I can't make it to the VT booth or if you are visiting some other day than Saturday.
Nov 9, 1998 - Scrimmage results
Last sunday's scrimmage against AQM ended in a victory for Clan Risen. We would
like to thank AQM for the great fight they put up as well as for the opportunity
to play as a Clan and wish them the best of luck for any future matches they
will play - be it against us or against any other challengers.
Nov 8, 1998 - Scrimmage tonight
We are sorry we could not post this earlier, but we have scheduled an ad-hoc
scrimmage with AQM tonight, so while CR play AQM, the server will not be open
to the public.
Nov 7, 1998 - New member, extended server times
As some of you might have noticed while playing on our server, Death is now
an official member of Clan Risen - welcome, Death!
Also, the server online times have been extended so that the server is available
continously from Friday, 21:00 CET until Monday 6:00 CET.
Oct 26, 1998 - More new maps
"bases" and "windtwn3" have been added to the vote map and to the files section.
Oct 23, 1998 - No game Nov, 1st. 1998
On November 1, 1998 there will be a country-wide internet boycot in
Germany to hopefully force the German Telekom to lower their rates
for local phone calls to make the internet more affordable.
On that day, this page will be replaced with a special strike page and our TF
server will run a special vote-map that does not allow you to select any level
at all.
Oct 22, 1998 - FTP links on file page changed
Our FTP-links didn't work, because ftp.doc.ic.ac.uk obviously changed
its
anonymous login-policy. Links corrected to sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Oct 16, 1998 - Warships problem hopefully fixed
In case you experienced problems loading the warship1 map, please
go to the files section and download the additional file to which you
will find a link in the map description - hopefully this should fix all
the problems people had with this map.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Oct 15, 1998 - Theme days
Due to the fact that, although vote40 allows players to democratically
choose which map they want to play, people keep bitching and whining when
a map they don't like is being played on the server, we have decided
to hold "theme days" at the weekend, meaning that one map of our choice
will be played for almost the entire night.
Since the maps are announced beforehand you can decide for yourself whether
you want to play or not. If you do come you are expected to play to
the best of your abilities and shut the f*ck up regarding your personal (dis)like
of the map - understood?
We will announce beforehand which map are going to be played on which date and
will announce this on our server information page.
The first few dates have been put up there this very night, so go and check
the schedule NOW!
Oct 1, 1998 - More map changes
New maps:
- hunted - The Hunted President
- warship1 - Two Destroyers
- outpost3 - The Outpost v3.0
Due to its incompatibility with the scoring system used on our
server, unholyk has been removed from the votemap and can only
be played by special arrangement.
Sep 28, 1998 - Map changes
We have made a few changes to the maps that are played on our
server:
2splash1 has been removed because of problems with the scoring,
it was replaced with the bh1 map.
Due to popular demand, stargat2 has been added.
Descriptions and links for both maps can be found in our files section.
The files section now also has a new section called "additional maps" - this section holds
maps that are not accessible from the votemap because they need special server settings,
but they have proven to be fun to play and can be played by special arrangement.
Sep 17, 1998 - TF CD now shipping
The first couple of TF CDs are now shipping; any of you who already
ordered one should have it in the mail within a few days (depending
on which country you live in).
The "Amiga Team Fortress Collection" CDROM contains:
- ALL Team Fortress levels from ftp.cdrom.com
- Tips for all TF player classes
- Many Quake demos (TF and regular Quake)
- Complete TF installation (along with the "coolcrap" look)
including an installerscript for 10 languages
- HTML documents about TF levels, MegaTF and more
- Other Quake conversions and bots
- Stuff from Planetquake
- Great TF screenshots!
- Team Fortress 2 screenshots, MP3 and an interview!
- 1 Audio-track about Team Fortress 2 !
- Team Fortress bot
- Many Amiga tools for Quake
If you want a copy of the CD, please contact A Storm
for details. The price is DM 10,- and covers the cost for the CD-R media,
label, inlay, shipping and handling. We are not making any profit off this!
Sep 11, 1998 - The Rock downgrade
Due to the annoying graphics bugs in rock2 we have downgraded to
run rock1 instead - this predecessor of rock2 lacks a few features
(like the generator), but never causes any strange gfx garbage to appear.
Rock1 will be added to the files section shortly.
Sep 10, 1998 - Server times extended
As of yesterday, our server will be up until 6:00 CET.
Side note: Information texts for 2splash1, 2night2 and 2sphinx6
have been finished and added to the files page.
Sep 10, 1998 - Link to Quest homepage
Added a link to the Amiga/Linux Quest homepage. Quest is a Quake
level editor originally for DOS, ported to Unix/Linux by Stephan
Kanthak and the adapted for the Amiga by A Storm.
Sep 9, 1998 - TheFRAG added to links
[AQM]Syke's personal Quake homepage re-added to the links. I somehow
forgot about it while updating the page desing. Sorry Syke!
Sep 8, 1998 - New maps added to server
We have added a few maps to the
server and the vote map. These maps are
2sphinx6, 2splash1, 2night2, 2fortlol and storm7.
Get them now from the files section.
Sep 8, 1998 - Website approved by Clan Ring
The Clan Risen website is now a member of the Clan Ring.
Sep 7. 1998 - Website nearing completion
Take a look at the menu graphics - a lot better than yesterday, no?
Sep 7, 1998 - Clan Risen website approved
Today we received our message of approval from ClickBOOM, making us a full
member of the ClickBOOM web ring. The web ring panel at the bottom of this
page should be fully operational now.
Sep 3, 1998 - New Clan Risen website put online
Clan Risen is proud to announce the availability of the new and redesigned
web page. The pages are now frames-free, should be easy to navigate even for
text-only users and still offer the same comfort you were used to. Things
might still be a little rough around the edges, but most information is
already available.
