Some information about Clan Risen
Clan Risen was founded some time in August 1998 by A Storm, Logain and Skyclad.
Initially we planned on keeping ourselves open to any kind of multiplayer Quake but
soon found out that TeamFortress offers the most fun and challenge in the long run
and consequently what time we can devote to Quake is devoted to TeamFortress.
We started out as a Clan that consisted of Amiga users only, limiting us to playing
TeamFortress for regular Quake, as a QW version for the Amiga was not available before
id Software released the sources for Quake and QW in December 1999.
However, we are not dogmatic about which computers Clan members should be using and
during the weeks and months following our founding we took on some members that played
on PCs.
The fact that it was virtually impossible to get another clan to play us (most Clans play
QW and are reluctant to go back to regular Quake) led us to the decision to start
playing TF for QW, a transition that fortunately most members were able to follow.
When we founded our Clan there was basically no TF server that was still based on regular
Quake, so in order to satisfy our gaming needs and for the enjoyment of the entire Amiga community (and everyone else who
likes to play TF on regular Quake), we set up a TeamFortress server about which you can read more on the server information page.
Even though we were playing QW most of the time, the server continued to be open to
everybody unable or unwilling to play on QW servers for some time.

Clan Membership
The Clan currently has a total of ten members, eight of which have an active status, and we are looking for more to fill our ranks. If you think
you are up to the task, please send me a mail and we will watch how you perform in the regular
TF matches held on our server. If we think you perform well enough we will invite you to join
our Clan. As you can see in the table of current clan members, our primary needs include
a spy, a scout and maybe a second engineer.
We will not only judge you on the amount of frags you accumulate and how often you capture
the flag, but even more based on how you can blend in with a team and make yourself useful
to your side without necessarily being in the front line all the time, this holds especially
true for engineers - engineers are a support class and should be employed as such, if you
e.g. like to get into firefights and capture the flag with an engineer, chances are quite high
we will not need you.
We are planning to compete in the next seasons of one of the TF leagues, at the time
of writing most probably the IGL. Therefore we expect members to be available for
matches and training at regular intervals. Real life comes first, of course, but if
you have so much real life to handle that there isn't any time for TF, please don't join.
