The feature to drag and drop an image file that contains EXIF data to add a virtual camera entry for the corresponding camera, allowing to then configure profiles for it, has unfortunately been dropped.

Adding virtual camera entry can still be done manually though:

darktable

Filmic, darktable and the quest of the HDR tone mapping - an in depth description of the darktable Filmic module by its author.

The exposure module should be before the input color correction module, as ICC profiles are optimized for the midtones.

When facing strong chromatic aberrations, setting preserve chrominace to maxRGB in the filmic module sometimes helps.

Note: darktable Camera Color Profiling is obsoleted by the introduction of the color calibration module.

Sony A7R IV

Lens aberration correction only affects the JPEG image, thus is safe to leave turned on without interfering with Lensfun based correction in the RAW process.

Picture Profile settings do affect still images as well, including RAW images!

RAW image color resolution (and thus dynamic-range) drops from 14 bit to 12 bit in any of these cases:

With APS-C/Super 35mm mode is set to Auto, it not only is activated when a APS-C lens is attached, but also in movie recording mode, when 4K video is recorded (file format set to XAVC S 4K).
This is to achieve highest detail in each format. 4K video is downsampled from a higher resolution readout in crop mode, whereas it is pixel-binned in non-crop mode. With Full-HD video, however, non-crop mode yields more detail than crop mode.
